Saturday April 2

Flew through the night, met the sun somewhere over the Northern Atlantic and landed at Amman about 2:30 PM

Nice view of the French Alps along the way

We then got on a bus and traveled 2-3 hours south of Amman to Wasi, near Petra where we stayed overnight at the Taybet Zamman. The drive took us thought desert county inhabited only by the Bedhouin's, desert that looks alot like Utah desert except that Mose and the Israelites wandered around her for 40 years.

The Taybet Zamman is a hotel that was built around an old village, or rather from an old village and made to look just lke it looks, but is a5 star hotel with all the goodies, quite the place and a great place for launching to Petra in the morning.

At 7:00 PM all the mosques around us started broacasting call to prayer through loudspeakers mounted on the spires, all out of tune, and out of sync like the Imans's were having a competition for noise. Little did I know that this would resume at 4:00 AM the next moring
